Auto Insurance Recommendations

We recommended the following coverages and limits:

  • Automobile Liability coverage of $500,000 on a "Combined Single Limit" basis
  • Uninsured Motorist coverage of $500,000 on a "Combined Single Limit" basis
  • Full Personal Injury Protection (PIP) of $250,000 with a $250 PIP deductible
  • PIP as the primary payor in the event of an automobile accident
  • Additional PIP coverage, (Option #8), depending upon your annual salary
  • Comprehensive and Collision coverage with deductibles of $500
  • Towing coverage of $50
  • Rental Reimbursement coverage of $50 per day or higher

Choose your Lawsuit Option (Right to Sue) carefully. Your choice applies to you, your spouse, your children, and other relatives living with you who don't have their own personal auto insurance.

We also recommend a Personal Umbrella Liability Policy of at least $2,000,000.

Money saving options

  • Consider higher deductibles for comprehensive, collision, and PIP coverage.
  • Consider eliminating comprehensive and collision coverage on older vehicles.
  • Insure your home "and" autos with the same company to receive multi-policy discounts.
  • Check your credit history and correct inaccuracies to improve your insurance score.
  • Avoid installment fees by having your premiums automatically withdrawn from your checking account.
  • Enroll teenage drivers in "driving training" programs to be eligible for special discounts.

Other important information

  • Call us directly when you purchase or lease a car. Never rely on the dealer to call for you.
  • Under certain circumstances, you may be required by state law to take your car for a “Photo Inspection”. This must be done within 7 days, otherwise, your physical damage coverage is automatically suspended.
  • Be careful when renting a car or borrowing someone else’s car. Your policy “will not” provide coverage for damage to the rented or borrowed car “unless” you have comprehensive and collision coverage on your own policy. When renting a car, we suggest that you purchase the collision deductible waiver.
  • If you have more than one automobile policy in your household, we recommend that all policies have the same “high” liability and uninsured motorists limits.
